Electro-mobility pioneer Move About Group and mobility services platform provider Miveo Car-sharing Technologies AB have joined forces to push the adaptation of Mobility-on-Demand for work related travel under the brand Move About.
The entire automotive industry is experiencing a major shift from car ownership towards mobility as a service where the customer pays for the use of a mobility service instead of owning a vehicle. At the same time, the performance, cost of ownership and convenience of electric vehicles are i improving rapidly compared to traditional fossil fuel-driven cars. Sooner rather than later the cars will be autonomous and further reduce the need to own a car.
The changing mobility landscape centers around “Mobility-on-Demand”: Anyone who needs to go from A to B will get access to the best mobility services on demand. Regardless if it is a pool car provided by the employer, a ride shared with a colleague, a bike, a taxi or public transport, the user will reserve, access and pay using one single service. To pursue the opportunities in the evolving market for Mobility-on-Demand, Move About and Miveo have decided to merge into one entity under the brand Move About.
– Our long lasting experience from the operation of corporate car sharing fleets in Scandinavia in combination with Miveo’s technology gives us a strong position to meet the increasing demand, says Jarle Frøshaug, CEO of Move About.
Move About is a car sharing operator focused on corporate car sharing. With 400 cars at a total of 150 corporations and municipalities in Norway and Sweden, Move About serves the mobility needs of more than 10,000 corporate users every day with shared cars, ride sharing services and bike sharing
– Miveo’s focus to enhance existing fleet offers from leasing companies, car dealers and car manufacturers by adding shareability to the cars delivered will remain. By adding the operations capacities and experience from Move About we now jointly bring a unique offer to the market, says Erik Nordenfelt, CEO of Miveo.
Miveo is a leading supplier of end-to-end solutions for car sharing including in-vehicle equipment or on-board software, driver and operator interfaces, and a solid cloud-based backbone with booking, fleet management, and reporting. Miveo offers fleet owners and fleet suppliers like leasing companies and car dealers to include sharing as a new option for their customers.
The Norwegian Move About Group is based in Oslo with national sales and operations and with the Swedish subsidiaries Move About AB and Miveo Car-sharing Technologies AB. Together, Move About and Miveo have handled more than 1 million trips for customers in Europe and North America. Combining Move About’s experience from operating reliable corporate car sharing operations with Miveo’s white-labelled car sharing platform, creates a strong entity for driving the future of Mobility-on-Demand.
– There is rising demand for mobility solutions in the market and the merge with Miveo creates new opportunities for us to address corporate customers who wants to extend their offer with shared cars, like utilities and real estate companies, says Mikael Kilter, Managing Director of Move About AB in Sweden.
